It can be hard to get support for trees from the city council. Showing how trees support tourism in your community is one way to help get support from city council. The City of Marietta, Georgia uses trees to create a welcoming atmosphere and the trees help put the Marietta Square “on the map,” according to the city arborist, Rich Deckman. A “Sip ‘n’ Stroll” tree walk with Marietta Tree Keepers helps get residents interested in the trees, too. Please share more ideas for garnering support from city councils with us.
