Last Friday, March 4th, the First Friday of March was TN’s official arbor day.  The official celebration was hosted in Cleveland, TN, winner of the 2010 TN Urban Forestry Council’s Tree Board of the Year award.  Approximately 80 people were in attendance to celebrate Arbor Day, recognize Cleveland as a Tree City USA, recognize Cleveland Utilities as a Tree Line USA, and recognize Cleveland State Community College as a Tree Campus USA.  Pictures to follow.

Several cities across TN also celebrated Arbor Day and received their Tree City USA awards, including Kingsport for 25 years, and Athens and Maryville for 30 years.  (Norris, North of Knoxville, is TN’s longest, continuous Tree City USA at 32 years.)

One of the purposes of founding the grove was to give all of you an opportunity to post your tree pictures. and share your tree planting stories.  Since we’re now into the planting season for TN, it’s time for show and tell.
