“The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) today announced the first discovery of Walnut Twig Beetle in southwest Ohio.” A total of eight beetles were found in traps, but if the beetles were carrying the Thousand Cankers Disease (TCD) fungus that causes tree mortality has not yet been confirmed. Walnut Twig Beetles or TCD has not been found in Iowa, but landowners and homeowners are encouraged not to transport wood or firewood.  This is especially true for wood material outside the state, as Iowa does not have a quarantine for TCD at this time.
