Comment by Lawrence Hamilton on January 24, 2013 at 12:26pm Drat it. I just had an article printed in our local paper (Charlotte News) on Big and Ancient Trees, and the recent published paper on global evidence that these heritage trees were disappearing. I, of course mentioned bristlecone pine as oldest, giant sequoia as most massive, tule tree (Oaxaca) as greatest circumference and coastal redwood as tallest. I did mention the ancient clump (layered) of Norway spruce found in Sweden that established after glacier retreated at around 9000 years.Interested to hear of this ancient yew.
