Olea Europaea - A Beautiful Sacred Tree

The European olive tree is one of my favorites, not only for the delicious and extremely useful fruit it produces, but also for  remarkable texture, color, and drought tolerance.  Trailing is a link to a short story on the origins of the olive tree, along with a picture of a grand ole tree that survived transplanting to a new winery in Calistoga, CA.  My guess is this tree is at least 150 years old.
