Trees Rock

I have always been fascinated by Trees that grow in rock.  I enjoy the contrast between the hard and soft and the plant and the mineral. I also am inspired by the opportunistic nature of a tree that will make itself at home in the least hospitable areas.  One of my favorite trees in the Southeast, the small but opportunistic Georgia Oak, is one tree that prefers the rocky outcrops. Loblolly Pine Failure
