Pine Tree Problems in Oklahoma

We are currently seeing some serious problems with the pine trees throughout central Oklahoma.  I'm curious to find out just how wide spread these problems are.   What are you seeing and where are you?  See the link for information about what some of the problems are.  http://pods.dasnr.okstate.edu/docushare/dsweb/Get/Document-2313/EPP-7618web%20color.pdf …See More

Helping people do what's right when it comes to the planting, conserving and caring for trees. Also like to catch some wind on my bike cruising down the highway to places unknown.

I plant trees because....
I'm planting a 'Princeton' American elm on the grounds of the Governors Mansion March 15 in celebration of Arbor Week in Oklahoma with around 90 of my closest friends. We will be recognizing all the great contributions of the Tree Cities, Utility Companies and Campuses that are the leading the way in helping Oklahoma stay green and growing.

2011 Arbor Week

Arbor Week is March 20 through 26 this year.  Join us in celebrating the values and benefits trees give us by planting a tree and starting your own personal Grove.

Thank you SO MUCH for your very kind comments on MY AMERICAN elm tree! It is true, this tree has become better through adversity. Also given attention through it's processes. It pleases me because this type of street lined tree does not occur often. All landscaping tends to be shrubs and folower beds directly in front of houses. This makes my landscape look LARGE and comforting.

When I get a chance to finish my first Grove blog, you will find out we have Emerald ash borer. What's under the hat until the USDA confirms it, we also have 1000 cankers on Walnut, the first East of the Mississippi. But keep that uder your hat.
