Working with the kids to improve their play area has been so enjoyable.
I'm hoping to plant a few buckets of leafed out Oak seedlings, but gosh the soil is hard and rocky for the kids to dig..."

We adopted the S.T.O.P.- Shade Trees on Playgrounds initiative as the focus for this year's ceremony.
Hopefully the school can continue to add more shade through plantings every Arbor Day!

- I plant trees because....
- Planted a Tulip Poplar on October 28, 2010 in the play area of the Eureka Springs Elementary School for the Pre-K class as part of the Arkansas Better Chance Program with funds from the Eureka Springs Garden Club. The students named the tree "The Pre-K Tulip Poplar" and can't wait to see the leaves appear this spring.
