Urban Forest Strike Team
This is a photo of the urban forest strike team that came to work in western Kentucky in 2009 after a large ice storm. The team cocept was developed after storm events (such as Hurricane Katrina) elevated the need for trained urban forestry professionals to come in and assess post storm damaged trees. You can learn more about the teams at http://www.ufst.org . This team includes state forestry agency personnel from North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.

Did you notice the headless statue in the middle? He was a casulty of the ice storm as well as the trees.
