The workshop is designed for landscape architects, city planners and engineers involved with developing green spaces in the urban environment. Attendees will learn about what to consider at the site when selecting tree species, features of native trees, how to protect existing trees during construction and learn the correct planting procedures that can determine the trees long term health and increase the tree’s ability to become established sooner. Registration fee is $20 for AUFC members and $35 for non-members. Lunch is sponsored by McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc.

Comment by Christina Fowler on February 25, 2011 at 11:51am Did you know trees, plants and shrubs imported into the United States can have harmful hitchhikers, such as beetles buried in the wood of a sapling, or tiny mites on the leaves of a flowering plant. Learn more about how you can help prevent the spread of invasive insects and diseases at http://www.plantsmart.org/index.php.
