This tree is located in Charlotte County, VA at Red Hill, the last home and burial place of the “voice of American Liberty”, Patrick Henry. It is the national and state champion Osage-orange and was featured as an historic tree in the 2009 book “Remarkable Trees of Virginia” authored by Hugo and Kirwan. Scientific investigation has shown that this tree predates European settlement of this site.
