This beautiful Live Oak deep in the heart of Texas shades the backyard of the home my daughter’s family recently moved into in the Balcones Woods area in north Austin (it is a rental home and the owner does not know any of its history).
It is the perfect Great American Tree for the family home: shading the entire backyard and providing the cooling effect so important in central Texas; serving as a mini-ecosystem for local wildlife with bird feeders hanging from and squirrels scampering about its fabulous limbs; providing a perfect place for a swing; and creating a space of serenity.
Address: 11405 PyreneeseDr., Austin, TX
