The Third Annual College Canopy Conference is for physical plant managers, landscape directors, administrators, crews – anyone responsible for the health and maintenance of their campus trees. Join us as we discuss issues pertinent and relevant to campus tree maintenance and learn from the experts as well as your peers at other educational institutions about challenges and solutions to growing and maintaining a healthy and thriving campus canopy. Session topics will include a look at the effects of soil compaction on campus trees; species that are best for heavily trafficked areas, managing the impact of school development on campus trees; cultivating students, staff, and alumni into tree champions; and more. We’ll hear about Gwinnett Tech’s evolution into a Tree Campus USA and enjoy a walking tour and see their plantings, rain garden, and cistern. We'll also get updates on campus tree projects, including saving Toomer's Oaks at Auburn University.
$50 per person. CEUs will be available. Lunch included.
