Florida Tree Identification

Good day!

We've recently moved to a west central FL home and have a few miscellaneous trees in our yard.  I'm trying to determine the tree...I've thought locust, pecan, ...but alas, I've not clue.  Those little nuts/pods/fruit (not sure on the correct terminology) are green, smooth, and less than 1 inch currently.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  The tree itself is close to 30 feet tall.

Best Regards,

Beth

  • This appears to be a Chinaberry (Melia azederach). Here is a good informational video by the University of Florida. https://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/plant-directory/melia-azederach/

  • Hi Beth, I will forward your message to my counterpart with the Florida Forest Service. I don't think they saw this message.
